infants and children for assessment and counseling on elevated blood
lead levels.
NYSDOH Newborn Screening Program

Blood collection for newborn metabolic diseases such
as PKU testing.

Perinatal
Hepatitis B Program

Identification and vaccination of infants
born to mothers carrying the Hepatitis B virus.
Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program

Provides food vouchers, health counseling and education
to qualifying pregnant and nursing women, infants and children under
age 5. Eligibility is evaluated by three components:
- Applicants must live in New York State.
- Applicants must meet the federal eligibility
requirements.
- Applicants must have a nutritional risk factor determined by the
WIC staff.
