The Ulster County Government Website has received a Meritorious Award in the "Computer Media" category in the 1999 National Association of County Information Officers (NACIO) Awards of Excellence program. Ulster was one of eight counties nationwide with a population of less than 500,000 to receive recognition for its website through NACIO’s Awards of Excellence program.

Joseph Lemme, Director of Ulster County Information Services, manages the site.

Ulster County has continued to enhance its site since it was launched in January 1997.

Among the features added in the past year are:

• Direct links from the home page to the most current information
• Information on Y2K issues
• Department pages for Information Services, Golden Hill Health Care Center, Rural Transportation, the Mental Health, Personnel, Job Training Partnership, and Planning departments
• A Seasonal Guide for activities in Ulster County
• Current weather information

The county continues to add the most current Y2K information and county departments are working to make more information accessible online.
