BLANKET REQUEST: Certified Nursing Assistant (Permanent, Full Time, Benefited, Non-Competitive) LOCATION: Golden Hill Health Care Center SALARY: $13.78 Per Hour GRADE: 6 CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT: As needed February 9, 2011 - December 31, 2011 DISTINGUISHED FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves the performance of routine yet responsible paraprofessional resident care duties in accordance with a generally prescribed routine. Primary duties of this position include direct personal resident services, including safety, comfort, personal hygiene or protection services under the general supervision of a Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse. Does related work as required.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Working knowledge of the principles and practices of health care in an institutional setting; ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written directions relative to resident care; physical strength and mental alertness; willingness to cooperate and to carefully follow a prescribed routine; discretion; tact and good judgment; ability to get along well with others and to secure cooperation of residents; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Certification by the New York State Department of Health and listing in the New York State RHCF Nurse Aide Registry as required by Ten (10) NYCRR (B) (7).
Note: Certified Nursing Assistants must attend at least six (6) hours of compensated in-service education every six (6) months. Special Note: When employed at the Golden Hill Health Care Center, in accordance with the New York Department of Health Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) program, it is required that a CHRC be obtained for any non-licensed prospective employees who will provide care or supervision to residents. Such employees will be considered as temporary employees when hired, until such time as the CHRC is completed and the employee’s background check is cleared, then the employees may become permanent. Special Requirement for appointment to Ulster County positions: In accordance with Ulster County Legislative Local Law Number 14 of 2007 or by other State and Federal Statutes, candidates for employment to all Ulster County positions must obtain clearance for appointment from the Department of Criminal Justice System or other mandated Federal and State regulatory authority based upon fingerprinting and a criminal history background check. This position will require a criminal background check and a candidate will be required to complete and sign a Criminal Background Investigation Release Form.
