BLANKET REQUEST: Environmental Health Aide (Full-Time, More Than Half Time, Half Time, Less Than Half Time, Seasonal, Non-Benefited, Non-Competitive) LOCATION: Ulster County Health Department SALARY: $13.94 Per Hour GRADE: 4 CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT: February 5, 2010 - December 31, 2010 DISTINGUISHED FEATURES OF THE CLASS: An employee in this class performs a variety of sub-professional tasks in the environmental sanitation unit of the Health Department. The work is performed under direct supervision of a technician or sanitarian. Supervision over the work of others is not a responsibility of an employee in this class. Does related work as required.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Some knowledge of the principles of natural science; ability to make simple arithmetic computations; ability to make simple field measurements observations, sketches and diagrams; ability to get along well with others; courtesy; accuracy; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: None. Special Requirements for appointment to Ulster County positions: In accordance with Ulster County Legislative Local Law Number 14 of 2007 or by other State and Federal Statutes, candidates for employment to all Ulster County positions must obtain clearance for appointment from the Department of Criminal Justice System or other mandated Federal and State regulatory authority based upon fingerprinting and a criminal history background check. This position will require a criminal background check and a candidate will be required to complete and sign a Criminal Background Investigation Release Form. Upon a conditional employment offer, a candidate will be required to be fingerprinted accordingly.
