BLANKET REQUEST: Nursing Assistant (Non-Competitive) (Permanent, Contingent-Permanent) (Full-Time, More-Than-Half-Time, Half-Time, Less-Than-Half-Time) (Benefited and Non-Benefited Positions) LOCATION: SALARY: $7.15 Per Hour CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT: February 2, 2007 – December 31, 2007 DISTINGUISHED FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is an interim position held for up to four (4) months upon successful completion of a New York State Department of Health approved Residential Health Care Facility (RHCF) one hundred (100) hour training program. The incumbent has four (4) months to take and pass the New York State Health Department written and clinical examination to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. The incumbent is under the direct supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or designee. Does related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:
A. Completion of a one hundred (100) hour approved New York State Department of Health training program; OR
B. A graduate of a nursing program approved by the New York State Commissioner of Education and one who is waiting to take the next scheduled state licensing examination or is waiting for the results of such examination.
Note: Nursing Assistants must attend at least six (6) hours of compensated in service education every six (6) months.
