JOB VACANCY: Senior Tax Map Specialist (Permanent/Provisional, Full Time, Benefited, Competitive Class) LOCATION: Real Property Tax Service Agency SALARY: $26.93 Per Hour / GRADE: 16 FILL DATE: 03/01/2010 DISTINGUISHING FEATURES
OF THE CLASS:
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Good knowledge of tax mapping policies and procedures; good knowledge of computer-assisted digitally formatted tax maps; good knowledge of computer-assisted mapping such as digitizing plotting, interactive editing and labeling; good knowledge of deeds, wills, court petitions and other real property records; good knowledge of mathematics used in preparing and maintaining real property tax maps; working knowledge of computer-assisted mapping software; ability to learn, utilize and train others in a variety of software packages and network systems for data base management; ability to get along well with others; good judgement; initiative; integrity; accuracy; physical condition commensurate with the demand of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree, or higher degree, in Industrial Engineering Technology, or a substantially similar degree and two (2) years of full-time paid work experience in traditional mapping , surveying or drafting, one year of which must have included the use of computer-assisted mapping including Geographical Information System (GIS); OR B.
Graduation
from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or
university with an Associate’s Degree, or higher degree, in Drafting and
Design Technology or a substantially similar degree and four (4) years of
full-time paid work experience as described above; OR C.
Graduation
from high school, or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and six
(6) years of full-time paid work experience as described above; OR D.
An
equivalent combination of the training and experience as indicated in A, B and
C above.
Special Requirement for appointment to Ulster County positions: In accordance with Ulster County Legislative Local Law Number 14 of 2007 or by other State and Federal Statutes, candidates for employment to all Ulster County positions must obtain clearance for appointment from the Department of Criminal Justice System or other mandated Federal and State regulatory authority based upon fingerprinting and a criminal history background check. This position will require a criminal background check and a candidate will be required to complete and sign a Criminal Background Investigation Release Form. Upon a conditional employment offer, a candidate will be required to be fingerprinted accordingly.
