FROM: Sheree Cross, Director, Golden Hill Health Care Center 99 Golden Hill Drive, Kingston, New York 12401 JOB VACANCY: Ward Clerk / Temporary / Full-Time / Benefited LOCATION: Golden Hill Health Care Center SALARY: $13.02 Per Hour / GRADE: 6 FILL DATE: January 18, 2012 DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is routine clerical and receptionist work involving responsibility for assisting with the record keeping details of providing nursing care to residents of an infirmary or health related facility. Work is performed under immediate supervision permitting some leeway for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Ability to understand and carry out non-technical routine oral and written directions; willingness to cooperate and to follow carefully a prescribed routine, ability to speak clearly and distinctly; ability to write legibly; ability to get along well with others and to secure their cooperation; interest in infirmary ward work; clerical aptitude; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful
completion of the eighth grade in school; or its equivalent.
Special Note: When employed at the Golden Hill Health Care Center, in accordance with the New York Department of Health Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) program, it is required that a CHRC be obtained for any non-licensed prospective employees who will provide care or supervision to residents. Such employees will be considered as temporary employees when hired, until such time as the CHRC is completed and the employee’s background check is cleared, then the employees may become permanent.
Special Requirement for appointment to Ulster County positions: In accordance with Ulster County Legislative Local Law Number 14 of 2007 or by other State and Federal Statutes, candidates for employment to all Ulster County positions must obtain clearance for appointment from the Department of Criminal Justice System or other mandated Federal and State regulatory authority based upon fingerprinting and a criminal history background check. This position will require a criminal background check and a candidate will be required to complete and sign a Criminal Background Investigation Release Form. Upon a conditional employment offer, a candidate will be required to be fingerprinted accordingly. If college or university education is indicated; transcripts are required and should be attached to all applications received. A candidate lacking the required transcripts will receive a conditional approval pending the receipt of transcripts. *Please note that all Civil Service Laws and Rules apply.
