The purpose of this project is to analyze the feasibility and costs for the phased implementation and maintenance of a Rail Trail system using the Catskill Mountain Railroad Corridor from the Kingston Point Park adjacent to the Hudson River to the Belleayre Mountain Ski Resort.
The scope of work includes (1) a comprehensive inventory of existing infrastructure and conditions (2) an investigation of existing and future parking, transit and secondary trail connection opportunities (3) the development and implementation of a comprehensive public involvement process, (4) the assessment of costs and conceptual design of the Rail Trail system, and (5) the production of a comprehensive report detailing the phased implementation of the Rail Trail system. |
