FROM: ULSTER COUNTY PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICE DATE: May 12, 2003 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MAY 9, 2003 At the May 8th session of the Ulster County Legislature, the legislative majority voted to appoint Alan F. DeForest to fill the vacancy formerly occupied by Kevin J. Hinchey. Legislator DeForest was sworn into office by Honorable Marianne O. Mizel, Ulster County Family Court Judge. Majority Leader Richard A. Gerentine stated, "Alan will be an asset to the legislative body and it will be an honor to serve with him." Legislator DeForest is from the Town of Ulster. The current legislative body did not have a member from the Town of Ulster. Legislator DeForest stated, "I look forward to working with the entire legislature and it is an honor to represent the constituents of the Town of Ulster." Chairman Ward D. Todd called upon Legislator Alice Tipp, Chairman of the Community Services Committee and Kathy Puglisi, Director of the Ulster County Office for the Aging, to present to Leo Notari a Proclamation designating the month of May as AAA HIICAP Counselors Month in Ulster County. The next meeting of the Ulster County Legislature will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2003, 7:00 P.M. in the Legislative Chambers, sixth floor, Ulster County Office Building, 244 Fair Street, Kingston, New York. |
