FROM: ULSTER COUNTY OFFICE DATE: April 5, 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE APRIL 4, 2005 Ulster County Office For The Aging Announces Events On April 12th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, Leo Notari, the Health Information, Counseling and Assistance Program Coordinator will host a class titled "Understanding Medicare, the Old and the New". The program will offer insight on what Medicare covers, what it doesn’t cover, and the rules and definitions applicable to coverage. Learn about your rights and obligations under Medicare coverage and how to keep orderly records. This course is for anyone going on Medicare in the near future and for seniors already participating in the Medicare program. Both courses are free but registration is required. Please call UCCC at (845) 339-2025 to register. Finally, on April 20th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM the Mid-Hudson Alzheimer's Association, in collaboration with the Town of Ulster Police Department, and Barnes and Noble Bookstore in Kingston, local author Bette Ann Moskowitz will read excerpts from her book: Do I Know You? Living Through the End of a Parent's Life. Bette will also be available to sign copies of her book. Mary Jo DeForest, UCOFA Deputy Director, and Detective John Dickson of the Ulster Police Department will provide information on local senior programs and services will be assisting with registration for the Safe Return Identification program. Barnes and Noble will donate 15% of customer purchases to the Mid-Hudson Alzhemier's Association for the Ulster County Time Away Respite Program when they use coupons acknowledging the event. Coupons will also be available for customers at several locations.
