Office For The Aging Seeks Nominations For Senior Of The Year

Alice Tipp, Chairman of the General Services/Community Services Committee and Kathryn Puglisi, Director of the Ulster County Office for the Aging, jointly announce open nominations for "Senior of the Year" to start the month of May, which is National Older Americans Month. Ulster County Office for the Aging is searching for older adults in our communities to recognize and honor for time and services provided to fellow citizens and organizations. These seniors may have made outstanding contributions to improving the lives of others through volunteering time or by supporting services and activities which help improve the quality of life for those disadvantaged people in Ulster County.

There will be four seniors recognized for such valuable contributions in two different age brackets. One female and one male aged 60 to 74 will be honored and, one female and one male senior aged 75 and older will be honored. The 2005 "Senior of the Year" award winners will be recognized at the Annual Public Hearing in October. Nominations must be received by August 31, 2005 and forms may be obtained by calling the Ulster County Office for the Aging at (845) 340-3456.
