Flood Response Workshop 2005

A Flood Response Workshop will be conducted by the Floodplain Management Section of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) which will be geared primarily to local code enforcement and municipal officials. This workshop will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2005 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM in the Legislative Chambers, 6th Floor, Ulster County Office Building, 244 Fair Street, Kingston, New York.

The benefits that will be obtained from attending this workshop will include:

    • Information on Building Code Requirements for projects in flood hazard areas.
    • Practical information on how to manage floodplains to minimize flood damages.
    • Explanations of National Flood Insurance (NFIP) terms and rules.
    • An introduction to understanding NFIP and flood insurance studies.
    • An understanding of the NFIP construction and development requirements.
