FROM: ULSTER COUNTY OFFICE DATE: June 3, 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JUNE 3, 2005 New Economic Committee Announced Richard A. Gerentine, Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature, has announced appointments to a special committee which will study the formation of an Economic Development Department within Ulster County. In accordance with the unanimous passage of Resolution No. 176 during the May session of the Legislature, the new committee will consist of Legislators Frank Felicello, Wayne Harris, James Maloney, Joseph Roberti, Michael Berardi, Hector Rodiguez and Susan Zimet. Legislator Roberti will serve as Chairman of this committee. "Legislator Roberti has been instrumental in creating awareness on the input Ulster County contributes regarding the status of businesses, industries, and local employment opportunities, and I am confident this committee will work diligently on producing new and innovative options for economic growth and vitality," stated Chairman Gerentine. The formation of this committee reaffirms the commitment of the Legislature to better serve the residents of Ulster County in all capacities.
