The Ulster County Office of Economic Development knows that one of the most challenging aspects of running a business is securing funding. This April, we partnered with Choice Words of New Paltz to offer a free grant writing seminar to county businesses. After the keynote speakers, attendees split up into workshops tailored to their industry sector.

Ulster County’s food and beverage industry is booming, and in March the county hosted an event to celebrate the community’s success. The food and beverage sector was well represented by craft beverage makers, vintners, distillers, farmers, food distributors, and artisanal food makers who have all found their niche in Ulster County. Business leaders welcome the arrival of new, low-interest financing for food entrepreneurs through Ulster County.

Arrowood Farm Brewery is hosting its 3rd annual Hop Harvest Festival this August. Arrowood joins a dozen other breweries in Ulster County’s booming craft beverage industry. They are part of an emerging trend among brewers, growing their own ingredients right on the farm, for beer as local as it gets.
