Dr. La Mar Hasbrouck being tapped to lead both departments

Kingston, NY – In an effort to streamline government and further promote health and wellness, County Executive Mike Hein announced today his intention to explore the consolidation of the county’s Mental Health Department with the Ulster County Health Department. Ulster County Commissioner of Mental Health, Edward Brown, Ph. D, announced last week that he will retire effective the end of March.

COUNTY EXECUTIVE MIKE HEIN EXPANDS SERVICES FOR SENIORS IN SOUTHERN ULSTER COUNTY

Ellenville – County Executive Mike Hein announced that the Ulster County Office for the Aging will soon be offering expanded legal services for senior citizens in southern Ulster County. Starting in March, the Office for the Aging will have an attorney available at the Trudy Resnick Farber Building at 50 Center Street in Ellenville to assist with legal services.

In his 2011 State of the County address, delivered before the County Legislature, Ulster County Executive Mike Hein detailed the major accomplishments of 2010 and conveyed a cautionary warning with regard to the financial challenges Ulster County will face in 2011. He also said that with strong leadership and bipartisan cooperation Ulster County can continue to move in the right direction.

The Innovative "Ready To Go" Program Will Promote Shovel-Ready Site Development.

Kingston, NY--Ulster County Executive Mike Hein, the Ulster County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) and Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation are pleased to announce an innovative new program. The "Ready To Go" program will create a shovel-ready strategic plan for Ulster County and take as many as five development sites through site plan approval to get them permit ready.
